One beauty food is foods rich in vitamin A: that's going to be orange produce like carrots , sweet potatoes and pumpkin as well as leafy greens like spinach 🍃 and kale. Science shows eating fruits and vegetables makes your skin color MORE attractive than a suntan. All thanks to the yellow pigments in produce called carotenoids. These pigments actually tint your skin a golden, healthy hue. 

Another beauty food is collagen. Collagen is a protein in the body that helps with skin elasticity. The cool thing is our body makes collagen on it's own, but what's not cool is that we produce less and less as we get older so incorporating some into your diet is a smart idea. You can drink bone broth or you can buy collagen as a protein powder and add it to things like smoothies or your morning cup of coffee ☕️. And a lot of food companies are adding it to protein bars too. Hi Bulletproof!

Another beauty food is foods rich in vitamin C: that's going to be citrus fruits like oranges 🍊 and lemons as well as veggies like broccoli and bell peppers. Vitamin C plays a major role in collagen synthesis. Vitamin C is also an antioxidant, antioxidants fight those nasty free radicals that lead to wrinkles. I like to think of antioxidants as your night in shining armor to a more youthful appearance.

Speaking of antioxidants... Another beauty food is foods rich in vitamin E: think sunflower 🌻 seeds and almonds. These foods keep your skin pimple free. A study looked at 100 patients that were recently diagnosed with acne. Researchers found that those suffering from severe acne had 30% lower blood levels of vitamin E compared to those who had less severe acne. My latest obsession is sunflower seed butter - which is just ground up sunflower seeds. I like to make an adult version of PB&J with it.
